Upgraded WordPress

Upgraded WP to the latest version (v2.0.2). This was due for quite sometime now. Found time over the weekend for the upgrade. As usual, WP upgrade was as easy it has been! Don’t expect any visual changes, its more of a security update kind of upgrade.

Going by my past experience, its always good to keep WP updated!

Hello 2006, Hello WordPress 2

First post of 2006, and my first post using WordPress 2!. That’s how I start my new year post!

WordPress 2 has been out for a couple of days now, and I chose to upgrade my blog to this brand new version. And…. all I can say is, WordPress 2 rocks!

You might not notice any visible changes at the front end, but the back-end, i.e., the admin console has got a major facelift. The upgrade process itself is very well documented here, and I did not face any issues.

If you are using any special plugins, you might need to look at it before you upgrade. The entire plugin compatibility list can be found here. In my case, almost all the plugins were already compatible. I just had to upgrade only one plugin since the new version would give me more features (the old version would also work..).

If you find something wrong on this blog after the upgrade, please let me know!

WordPress 2.0RC

WordPress v2.0 Release Candidate (RC) is out. If there are no bugs, then the RC would be v2.0! I am really excited about this new version of wordpress. I had read this article called “Whats new in wordpress 2 ?” summing up the changes from v1.5.x to v2.0. Cool. Lot of changes in the code. Performance must be much better. Also, lot of cool facilities provided to the plugin writers. So, in the near future, we can expect to see plugins which perform better!.

Quite a lot of features in the admin interface have been updated/added. … Keeping fingers crossed…..waiting for the final release.

WordPress 1.5.1.3 Available

WP 1.5.1.3 is available now!

Development has moved on to some exciting new features for the next major release, but an important security issue was brought to our attention which required an update for our users. The problem is not yet public but you should update your blog as soon as possible to 1.5.1.3. If you are unable to do upgrade in the short-term you may protect yourself by deleting the xmlrpc.php file from your WordPress directory.

Its important that you upgrade to the latest version…., going by my past experience
