Photos from Karkala Karthik Punnav
Quite a lot of snaps from Karkala Karthi Punnav (Laksha Deepostsava). Like had had mentioned in my previous post, I was in Karkal on Sunday and Monday. Sunday was Talayi Divvo (Talayi - Sacred pond in the vicinity of the temple, Divvo means Diyas). On Monday, there was this symbolic function of Vanabhojana (which literally means, dinner in the forest).
Here is the snaps :
Temple - Lighting - Decoration
The temple as usual was fully illuminated with lights. Here are some night shots of the temple.

Talayi Divvo Pictures
Here are some pics from the Talayi Divvo function. This time around, it was really beautiful. There were lots of firecrackers this time. The entire area was lit up with diyas as you can see in the pictures below :

Snaps from Vanabhojana
The snaps below were shot on Monday during the Vanabhojana celebrations. This place is considered to be equivalent of tirupati. You can read the entire history of this particular function over here.

I am posting this keeping in mind thousands of Karkalites spread across the world (and for some reason could not make it to Karkal for Karthik Punnav). So, I request you to please pass on the URL (http://www.arjunprabhu.com/blog/archives/2005/11/24/
