Photo Album!
October 2nd, 2006 at 11:42am

Did some research over the weekend for some tool to generate web-based photo albums, and finally zeroed in on JAlbum. So far, I am happy with what it does, but I will get to know all the Pros and Cons only after I use it for a while.
BTW, the Photo Album is password protected. If you know me personally, feel free to request for a userid/password using this link.

In this case, the photos are stored on your web server?
Also did you explore JAlbum for a import from flickr? Do they support anything like that?
And if you have used flickr before, what’s the advantage of JAlbum?

@Kapil : I did not find any way (at least so far) to import photos from Flickr into JAlbum.
Flickr is better - You can tag your photos and search the photos based on tags . … But thats good if you search for photos!.
If you just want to display photos as albums, JAlbum is as good as flickr. (but its still 1:1 mapping - ie, a photo can belong to only one album)
I do have a basic flickr account. Not a Pro account, which costs $30 per year. The basic version has limitations on number of photos (200) displayed on your feed.
Where as, JAlbum, I have full control. And I dont have to spend on anything because, I already have quite a lot of hosting space !!

I think you should try Picasa.. a complete new look has been released.. It looks great and more over pretty fast than before. It also has a API to link it on your webpage
