A lot of nostalgic comments here, but nobody seems to remember ‘Satyajit Ray Presents’, the 13 episode serial on doordarshan based on his own short stories. (Though I have them in book form, it is a different experience altogether to see actors like Utpal Dutt and Smita Patil enacting them)
I would be glad to have any info on that one. Anybody from Kolkata who is aware of this one?
As for the songs listed here, they are all easily available on the internet. Just google them.

Hi all,
Malgudi Days DVD set has only 13 episodes….Swamy and Vendor of Sweets had 8 episodes each (total 16) and they are NOT available on DVD…I am hoping that producers will consider putting them on DVD as well…..mean while, if you find them, please let me know….rikinthakker@yahoo.com

Anyone remember the TV Show from early 90s on Hostel Kids called “Neenv”. One of the best shows now completely lost in the oblivion.
I wonder if anyone know its Video availability or even the title song. I think it went something like “Dharti par sooraj ki kirne..”

Ok guys, good entry here. I remember the Mile Sur Song. Does anyone have the Video for it??
By the way, I purchased the MALGUDI DAYS 2 DVD Set. The cheapest 2 DVD set is available at http://www.indiaweekly.com
What I’m curious about now is that the 2 DVD set only has 13 episodes. Now I was only 6 when it was broadcast back in 86, so I don’t remember. Was there a whole different show that showed Swami’s episodes in detail. I also don’t see the “Vendor of Sweets” episode on the 2 DVD Set. Who has a good memory???
Other good shows like Katha Sagar, Bharat ek Khoj, Mungerilal ke haseen sapne, etc. which were shown in 80s-90s also deserve VCD/DVD.
Thanks that the TV Show “Mirza Ghalib” is on DVD now too.
