Bangalore looks great on Google Earth!
September 18th, 2005 at 12:43pm
Yesterday Google quitely updated Google Earth’s image resolution of quite a lot of cities. This update also included Mumbai (Bombay), Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore. Cool.
Seeing the images, it looks like these were taken around a year back!
Here is a mini-bangalore sightseeing using Google Earth! (You must have installed Google Earth on your machine to view these files)
- Bangalore Railway Station (Download KMZ)
- Majestic Bus Stand (Download KMZ)
- Bangalore Town hall (Download KMZ)
- JC Road (Download KMZ)
- Lalbagh (Download KMZ)
- Jayanagar 4th Block Shopping Complex (Download KMZ)
- Bangalore Dairy (Download KMZ)
- The Forum Shopping Mall (Download KMZ)
- Silk Board (and the flyover) (Download KMZ)
I could also see the Infosys Campus in Electronics city!
- Infosys Corporate Building - Main entrance (Download KMZ)
- Infosys Food Court (Download KMZ)
- Heritage Building (Download KMZ)
- Education & Research Building (Download KMZ)
You can download the full tour of places listed above here.
The same is the case with Mumbai. Now the Gateway of India is pretty clear. Mumbai looks great. Don’t miss the Marine drive area!
Enjoy!

Arjun, can you help me to display Mumbai properly on google earth ? I have some free time to contribute to community
thanks in advance.
Please let me know how to contact you.
2. Arjun | September 19th, 2005 at 10:45 am
Bhaskar, the mumbai area too is updated on google earth. its pretty simple. Just put a placemark, and save it as a kmz file. (right click).
BTW, only a part of mumbai is available as high resolution image. not the full of mumbai.
You can contact me via the ‘contacts‘ page of this site.

You wouldn’t happen to have the coordinates for Novell’s Bangalore offices by any chance? I’m going there next week and it would be nice to have a look in Googe Earth .
15. Arjun | November 24th, 2005 at 11:17 pm
Tor: Sorry, i dont have the exact co-ordinates of the Novell’s Bangalore office. But its on the hosur road.
But it is located on the road thats runs next to silk board (the flyover one). The KMZ for silk board is available in the post above.
Hope this helps.
