Why India is the way it is … ?

July 13th, 2005 at 10:31pm

Joint Commissioner of Police

Scene: A flood affected area of Vadodara, Gujrat
Cast: Joint Commissioner of Police, K. Kumaraswamy, riding on the shoulders of a Constable to save his feet and trousers from Flood Water!!!
Source: The Indian Express, July 2, 2005.

Not sure about the validity of the source. Got this one as a mail forward. But, by all possibility, it could be true in a country like ours.

No wonder India is the way it is today. We have lot more to learn and improve.

Update : Harsh Says … “there is a report of correction to above from Indian Express of 15 July 2005. It says he was on work for last 17 hours at that time and is having a permanent injury in his leg from a bullet 10 years back”. Thanks Harsh for the update.

That image is on the circulation now a days. you questions are stiking yet can be answerable.
Many things are changing. not everyone is like that. I have seen the District Collector of Jabalpur (My Home city) visiting the flood effected area for distributing the relief money here bare footed right through the mire.

India is so blessed and yet so backward.

India is a pathetic case of millions of agonies and ironies personified by the poorest of the poor.

    India should learn from China.

India is like this today, because the majority of the population are groping in the darkness of their falsehoods.

For those who were offended by my first comment, I apologize to you.

It is good to hear what others are thinking and don’t feel bad if they are contrary to your great expectations.

Nigeria is like the India of Africa.
India is blessed with great brains and it is not fair that the majority are in the drains.

Now don’t get me wrong again.

Anyway that cop is transferred with no reasons cited and Indian Express is projecting it as an “express impact”.

As for Mr chima’s comment on India I invite him to please read Ramchandra Guha’s (famous Indian historian) article in The Hindu at following address. Please read it before this Saturday as Hindu has a history of removing its Sunday Magazine content at the end of the week.
