Single sign-on for Google Inc ?

February 14th, 2005 at 08:25pm

One feature that I would love to see on google is the single sign-on. Just like yahoo. My yahoo userid /password can be used for almost all the yahoo services.

Why isn’t google going for it ?

It would be great if I could use the same id for gmail, blogger, orkut, hello, adsense, adwords, google print, google groups + host of other services that are coming up!

Today I read of some extranet service with lot of features that google is planning to come up with !… Are we looking at a browser based OS ? :) … that would be really a revolution!

Anyone at google listening ? Hello!

Updated (Sep 15, 2005): Someone listened! More info here.

I believe that browsers have alwasy been a kind of OS and going forward, I believe Google would take on Microsoft at an OS level. Currently I think we have almost everything to work out of a browser. Do you really need other applications that are supported by the OS ?

Think of it this way, compared to 5 years ago, what is the amount of time you spent working on a browser. I feel that time has gone up atleast by an hour every day.

So soon you’ll be using the browser for all emails, ppts, word, project and what not…
